Jeremy Hillman to chair ILA committeeSeptember 8, 2014
Current award committee member Jeremy Hillman is taking over from Fortune magazine’s Geoff Colvin as chairman of the Inspired Leadership Award committee.
The newly appointed director of corporate communications for the World Bank was announced as the new chairman at this year’s Performance Theatre in Oslo, Norway.
Jeremy, former director of external communications for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a former British Broadcasting Corporation journalist, also joins The Performance Theatre advisory board as part of his chairmanship.
Geoff, who has served as chairman since the award’s inception, remains on both the ILA committee and TPT board, also.
Commenting on his appointment, Jeremy said: “I’m very much looking forward to taking over and thank Geoff for his excellent work. I hope to raise the award’s visibility and publicity, and use it to recognise those that could be global leaders as well as those that already are.”
Geoff added: “It’s been a joy working with the committee all these years and it’s a testament to The Performance Theatre that the winners of the Inspired Leadership Award have been so glad to accept the award.”
And, summing up, Osvald Bjelland, founder and vice chairman of TPT, said: “I am very proud of the work our committee has done over so many years, recognising truly worthy recipients. Geoff has led this from the start and I thank him for his hard and brilliant work all these years. We very much look forward to working with Jeremy as we move forward and, together, Jeremy and Geoff have many exciting ideas for taking the award from strength to strength.”
